is one of the oldest forms of mass communication. Print media
includes newspapers, weeklies, magazines, monthlies, printed
journals, books, newsletter, brochure, leaflet, banner, flyers, etc.
it is believed that Johannes Gutenberg of Germany had
developed printing technology around 1439. print media
includes forms of printed materials. Print media has not lost its
relevance even after the advent of electronic media. It has the
advantage of making a longer impact on the minds of the reader. Print
media transmits information via physical objects. It uses printing
technology and methods to spread news, messages, and information
among people.

Newspaper

is the most popular form of print media. Newspapers are generally
delivered at home. It is the
most inexpensive way to reach a huge mass of people quickly. A
newspaper is divided into various segments containing current events,
sports, food, politics, advertisements, finances, fashion,
entertainment, informative articles, etc. it provides correct and
authentic information in a regular manner. It is usually printed on a
low cost material called newsprint.
The most important function
of newspaper is to inform the public of significant events.
Newsletter
It
is a publication that mostly covers one main topic. Sometimes, people
need to subscribe for it. Many a time they are even free. Generally
used as information sources for neighbourhood, communities and groups
having common interest about that particular topic. It
is also used for promotional purpose, political campaigns, etc. Many
companies use it as a marketing strategy to provide information to
customers and employees.
Magazines
They
are periodical publications containing a variety of articles.
It provides detailed articles on various topics such as food,
fashion, sports, etc. They
are published weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. The

for the magazines.

consists of other than printed matter such as slide shows, videos,
etc. It includes digital contents. It includes radio, television and
films. It includes modern electronic technologies. It has world wide
coverage. They are more advanced form of media.

the same time. It can be used both for education and entertainment.

is India’s first film by Dadasaheb Phalke. Film is universal
language. It presents facts through visual descriptions. It allows to
memorize a lot of information without any efforts. It stimulates
imagination. It changes attitudes. It improves creativity.

Film is a film whose primary purpose is to educate. They are used in
classrooms. They are used to teach Geography, History, Arts,
